Achieve is a vibrant and alive club that is professionally run yet is infused with passion and humour.
We are about to start running a speech craft course for 6-8 weeks starting in mid May.

Contest
The club was well represented by Shana, Jeremy and Brian doing the club proud in the Area contest on the 8th March.
Shana won the Table Topics Contest, Jeremy was second in the Evaluation Contest and Brian was second in the International Contest.  This was a huge achievement by those 3.
Thank you to all those who attended and helped the event to be a success.

How will Toastmasters Benefit you?

  • Boost your self confidence
  • Help you express yourself clearly in front of a group of people
  • Enhance your leadership skills and ability to communicate with influence
  • Teach you how to deliver and receive feedback in a constructive, positive way
  • Mentor you to achieve your goals
  • Improve your career prospects
  • What happens in a meeting?

A regular Toastmaster's meeting has these common elements:

    • A warm welcome at the door

    • Impromptu speeches (or 'Table Topics') of one to two minutes each. These are one of the highlights of a club meeting.

    • Prepared speeches. Typically two or three 5 - 7 minute speeches in a meeting.

    • Evaluation of each speech to provide learning through effective feedback. This tried and true process is unique to Toastmasters.
    • All meetings are chaired and have an agenda and a Timekeeper to help manage our time.

    • Coffee or tea break in the middle.
Our meetings 'charge you up' for a head start on the week!

What are some themes you have?

That's the great thing about Toastmasters.  Every week a different member runs the evening.  Therefore no 2 weeks are the same.
Some of the themes we have include:
    Oscars
    Seuss
    Animals
    Travel
    Nursey rhymes
    Dreams
    Backwards
    Stories
    Books
    Kiwi Slang

    The list can be endless.
